Animal Confession started off running in 2018 with the recent release of their sophomore record, “Age of Today” on April 13, 2018. Fresh off playing Canadian Music Week in Toronto, the band is playing more shows in Ottawa leading up to RBC Bluesfest in which they perform on the main stage alongside acts including Rise Against and Three Days Grace. The band is excited to support their new record by playing both local shows and small and large festivals. They will continue to play shows in their home town of Ottawa as well as larger cities in Ontario and Quebec well into late 2018.
Following the local success of the band’s first record “Bright Light, Dark Eyes”, the band entered the studio in 2017 with producer Steve Foley to begin work on “Age of Today”. With an arsenal of 2 dozen songs written, the band set forth to come up with a set of song that was both cohesive and upbeat. The aim was to progress their sound from more ambient progressive rock to a more refined and straight- ahead rock sound while maintaining their collective influences.
The band released their first single “Ritual” ahead of the release of Age of Today, and is currently enjoying over 1600 views on YouTube, as well as rotation on local radio stations Live 88.5 and Rebel 101.7 in Ottawa. The band will be adding more shows for the rest of the year in the Ottawa and Toronto areas, as well as branching out to Montreal and Quebec City later in the year. The band’s high energy, catchy melodies, and undeniable stage presence will help them continue to draw new and old fans alike.
